Dear <PREFERRED_FIRST_NAME>:
Your academic record after Fall 2022 semester has been reviewed by the Committee on Scholastic Standards, and we regret to inform you that you are *dismissed* from Colorado State University because your cumulative grade point average has remained below a 2.00 after two semesters in the academic probation process.
We want to support you to achieve your educational goals as you plan for the future. We encourage you to review options to return to CSU outlined below and at https://secure.studentachievement.colostate.edu/DismissalAppeals/DismissalOptions.aspx:
1. You may enroll in courses through CSU Online, as a non-degree GUEST student during the fall/spring semesters, or as a non-degree Summer Only student during CSU Summer Session. Once you improve your cumulative CSU GPA to at least 2.00, you will be eligible to apply to return to CSU degree-seeking status in good academic standing.
2. You may attend another college or university to demonstrate your readiness to return. You’re encouraged to complete 12 or more college-level academic semester credits with no D/F grades before reapplying. Strong candidates present at least 15 college-level academic semester credits with a GPA of 2.5 or better. Once you have met these guidelines, you will be eligible to apply to return to CSU degree-seeking status and will be in a probationary status with two additional terms within which to repair your cumulative CSU GPA to a minimum 2.0.
3. You may apply for an Academic Fresh Start after at least two full years (four regular fall/spring semesters) have elapsed since your last term of enrollment as a degree-seeking student. For more information about Fresh Start see: http://admissions.colostate.edu/returningstudents/.
Please reach out to our office if you have questions about these options before you decide how to proceed. The option you choose can impact the amount of time it takes you to become eligible for readmission and financial aid, your access to courses, and more.
If you have any questions concerning the Scholastic Standards Policy or your academic options, please contact us at: studentsuccess_scholasticstandards@mail.cololstate.edu. Please let us know if there is additional support we can provide for you to move forward successfully.
Sincerely,
Gaye DiGregorio
