Dear <PREFERRED_FIRST_NAME>,
I am pleased to inform you that your academic dismissal appeal has been granted. The Committee on Scholastic Standards has reviewed and granted your appeal and the Office of Academic Advocacy requires that you participate in the program (outlined below) which will support your return to academic success. Note: If you have been suspended for disciplinary reasons you will need to follow through on any actions required by Student Conduct Services before you are allowed to return to CSU.
You will be permitted to enroll at Colorado State University for one additional semester in the probation process. At the end of the 2023 Fall semester, your cumulative GPA must be at least 2.00 in order to continue in good standing at Colorado State. If your cumulative GPA remains below 2.00, you will be dismissed from the University.
NOTE: If you have already been granted a Planned Leave for Fall 2023 you will be able to complete your additional semester on academic probation for Spring semester 2024 only. DJ Hightower, the Collegiate Success Coach will be in touch with you during Fall 2023 to remind you to register and answer questions. In addition, if you are not eligible to return next semester due to disciplinary suspension/expulsion your appeal will be disregarded.
As part of your approved appeal, we are requiring that you complete both of the following:
Meet with DJ Hightower, the Collegiate Success Coach, at least four times during the spring semester- students will receive outreach at the beginning of the semester. Students can also schedule by going to this link: https://academicadvocacy.colostate.edu/probation/success-coaching/.
Meeting these requirements will help you identify academic strengths, further develop an academic plan that supports your return to good academic standing, and move you towards your degree. If you have any questions concerning the Scholastic Standards Policy, your academic options, the role of the Collegiate Success Coach, or other resources for academic success, please email studentsuccess_scholasticstandards@mail.colostate.edu. We wish you the best of luck with your educational pursuits.
Sincerely,
Sean P. Wernert-Eighmy
