Dear <PREFERRED_FIRST_NAME>:
As we head into the later part of the semester, we want to ensure that you are aware of your academic status and share our support of you being successful at CSU.
According to University records, which may not reflect recent grade changes, you are completing the second semester of the probation process. In order to return to good academic standing, you need to improve your cumulative grade point average to at least 2.00 by the end of this semester. If at the end of this semester your cumulative grade point average remains below 2.00, you will be academically dismissed from the University (https://catalog.colostate.edu/general-catalog/academic-standards/).
Based on your current probationary status, we encourage you to file an academic dismissal appeal. Appeals must be submitted at https://secure.studentachievement.colostate.edu/DismissalAppeals, between November 23 and December 30, at 12:00 pm (noon/ MST). No late appeals will be accepted.
Since your your fall semester 2020 grades will be available on RAMweb by December 24, 2020; and your academic status may not be indicated in RAMweb until a later date, we urge you to prepare and file an appeal before your grades are determined if you have been making progress and may not raise your GPA above the requirement . If you earn a 2.00 cumulative grade point average, your appeal will no longer need to be considered. If you do not earn a 2.00 cumulative GPA and your appeal is approved, you will be granted one additional semester on probation.
Your appeal needs to include a personal statement, supporting documentation, plus a thoughtful PLAN OF ACTION specifically outlining what steps you are taking to improve your academic performance. It is important to review Appeal FAQ’s, Guidelines, and Options after Dismissal, listed on the top of the appeal website. We encourage you to formulate a strong plan of action with your academic advisor NOW. Waiting until after the semester is not recommended due to the short time in which you may have to contact an advisor and create a strong appeal.
We want to help you be successful and we know you can do so! Please call our office (970-491-7095) if you have any questions or concerns. We wish you the best.
Sincerely,
Gaye G. DiGregorio

Estimate your cumulative GPA at the end of the semester. If you believe that you will not earn the 2.0 cumulative GPA needed to regain good standing, consider submitting a dismissal appeal.

Impact
-
You will be dismissed at the end of this semester as a regularly enrolled student if you fail to earn a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater. Appeals will not be accepted after the due date.
