Dear <PREFERRED_FIRST_NAME>,
Your academic record after spring 2018 semester has been reviewed by the Committee on Scholastic Standards and we regret to inform you that you have been *dismissed* from Colorado State University because you did not earn a 2.0 GPA on at least 12 credits for the spring, 2018 semester. Your fall courses have been cancelled and unfortunately, there are no appeals available to you at this time.
If you are close to earning a cumulative 2.0, you might consider CSU summer session and reapplying to CSU for fall semester. Please work with your academic success coordinator/advisor to discuss all of your options for returning to CSU which include the following:
• Attend summer session and raise cumulative CSU GPA to a 2.0 and reapply online.
• Demonstrate success according to our transfer admission standards with course work completed at another institution after leaving CSU. Strong candidates for returning/transfer admission present 15-30 college-level academic semester credits with a GPA of 2.5 or better and no grades of D/F or repeat/deletes.
o At a minimum you must complete more than 12 credits to be considered for return. The review of transfer work includes an evaluation of the quality and rigor of the course work completed and the grades achieved.
o The expectation is that your transfer work will demonstrate the level of success you are ready to achieve and capable of at CSU. You will return in a probationary standing with two terms to repair your cumulative CSU GPA to 2.0 if you choose this option.
• Take time off (2 years, 4 fall/spring semesters) and reapply to CSU as a Fresh Start student (click the “Fresh Start” menu item at https://admissions.colostate.edu/apply/returning).
• More information on how to return can be found at http://admissions.colostate.edu/apply/returning/.
If you have any questions concerning the Scholastic Standards Policy or your academic options, please call your academic success coordinator, advisor, or the Collegiate Success Coach at the Collaborative for Student Achievement at (970) 491-7095. We hope that you will take appropriate steps to improve your academic record and we look forward to the day we can welcome you back to Colorado State University.
Sincerely,
Gaye G. DiGregorio
